Fall Creek Internal Medicine, LLP is private practice that was established in Bend Oregon in February 2003. Our physicians came together with a goal to offer personalized, compassionate care. Reports to :

Work Schedule:

 

4 days a week – per physician schedule OR

 

fills in as needed

 

Job Summary:

  • Perform general medical staff duties with minimal physician supervision
  • Assist the physician with diagnostic and treatment procedures
  • Triage patient phone calls

Qualifications:

  • Current/Active Certification for RN/LPN/or CMA
  • Previous medical office experience preferred.
  • Experience in Electronic Medical Records preferred

Responsibilities:

  • Flexibility with scheduling
  • Review patient records to insure completeness before appointment time
  • Insure all appropriate instruments and equipment are ready
  • Assist patients from reception to exam room and obtain the following:
  • Take height at the first visit and then yearly
  • Measure blood pressure and weight every visit
  • Reconcile current medications and allergies
  • Acquire temperature and oxygen saturation as clinically appropriate
  • Use excellent listening and critical thinking skills while discerning care needed for patient
  • Assist the physician with diagnostic and treatment procedures
  • Screen and triage patient phone calls, prescription refills, and prior authorizations
  • Communicate to patient lab/pathology/diagnostic, results etc. by phone call, letter, or other correspondence
  • Explain thoroughly and accurately patient diagnosis, results, and instructions per physician
  • Maintain clean patient rooms
  • Assist with medical equipment maintenance
  • Obtain prior insurance authorizations as necessary
  • Assist with medical supply inventory
  • Review, obtain, and follow up on any outstanding labs, diagnostics, and correspondence as necessary
  • Perform necessary in-house lab(s) and/or EKG
  • Administer and maintain accurate records of injections/immunizations
  • Assist in making appointments for tests
  • Do basic patient education activities as directed by physician
  • Perform other tasks as requested by physician(s)
  • Be familiar and compliant with current OSHA requirements and keep OSHA compliant records
  • Be familiar and compliant with current HIPAA requirement and maintain patient confidentiality
  • Daily maintain patient electronic medical records
  • Fill-in as needed for other medical staff when absent

Education:

  • High School or equivalent
  • CMA/MA/LPN
